About the Position

The position is responsible for data analytics to assure all data quality is compliant within the Gold Coast Water and Waste's line of business and corporate standards. The role supports the Directorate through the uploading, extraction and analysis of data to enable essential business activities to be undertaken including, but not limited to: full and interim asset revaluations; updates and improvements to asset management; asset condition assessments; capital renewal planning; maintenance activities; maintenance planning and operational reporting.

You will lead, facilitate and implement a range of asset information improvement projects to deliver our Asset Data Improvement Program, undertake data analysis and provide input into the implementation on new process and controls to improve the analysis, interpretation, querying and reporting of asset information.    

Key deliverables of the position

• Capture asset and spatial data from information sources including “As Constructed” plans and Asset Design and As Constructed (ADAC) electronic files.
• Provide input into the maintenance and improvement of internal and external processes for asset data capture, including asset data cleansing projects and As Constructed workflow processing.
• Prepare basic asset reports relating to asset data information.
• Accurately maintain the quality and integrity of asset and spatial data and provide basic spatial analysis to internal stakeholders regarding asset data.

About You

You are a self-motivated professional and competent GIS operator and will bring your technical knowledge and experience to this role, including: 

• Degree/Advanced Diploma of Spatial Sciences and/or equivalent knowledge and skills. 
• Sound knowledge of the ESRI suite of products or similar GIS and SAP applications and the ability to develop proficiencies with the City's corporate systems.
• Sound knowledge of Asset Register processes and the asset life cycle.
• Drivers licence class C unrestricted.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, interpret and analyse information, determine an appropriate course of action and provide sound advice, options or recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience in asset management information system processes for data creation, management and reporting.
• Well-developed interpersonal, written and communication skills in the areas of consultation, negotiation and assertiveness with an ability to transfer knowledge to other capable team members.
• Ability to work within an asset information team environment with demonstrable experience in managing multiple tasks, that may have impact beyond the work area, with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work, and resources to reach agreed and successful outcomes.
