The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

About you

You are passionate about sharing your extensive industry experience in Community Service. You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, passing on your experience and knowledge, and you have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning enviroment.

You have the drive and engaging personality to interact with a diverse range of students. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to share information with your peers and students face to face, and when required, via virtual leasrning platforms.

You are a great team player who strives for succes in all aspects of your day to day activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Recognised Degree in any of the following Community Services areas:
  • Social Work
  • Community Services/Welfare Work
  • Social Sciences
  • Youth Work
  • Disability
  • Mental Health
  • Or other relevant community services discipline.
  • Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent.

Be prepared to contine to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as thier industry currency and trainer/assessor competence


  • Demonstrated high level of teaching competence and thorough knowledge and technical expertise relevant to one of the industry areas relevant to current training package areas.
  • Demonstrated sound administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with online learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience of engaging with learners from disadvantaged backgrounds including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience and sound knowledge through employment and engagement in the
  • Disability and or/Community Care sector.
