The Youth and Family Service Department is seeking an experienced professional Youth Programs officer to facilitate and assist in the provision and delivery of all aspects of high-quality youth programs, activities and events for young people aged 10-25 years and their families

A little bit about the role

• You will oversee the effective use social media platforms, Youth Services website and the development of appropriate and engaging promotional materials to engage with young people
• You will will explore opportunities to increase the skills, confidence and ability of young people to actively participate in cultural, social and learning opportunities in their community
• You will assist with information, referral and individual support that is responsive to the needs of young people and their families

What we are looking for

• Tertiary qualification suitable for entry into the Youth Work field or significant experience
• Excellent computer literacy, verbal and written communication skills
• Expertise in content development for social media
• Ability to produce reports & documentation
• Practical knowledge and understanding of Youth Work principles and practice
• Experience in working with young people in a variety of program settings
• Ability to engage and communicate with a diverse range of young people, their families and communities
• Current Victorian driver’s license and WWC check is essential. First
• Aid Certificate is preferred

• $70,934.90 to $82,175.74 pro rata plus super
• Maternity leave position temporary part time February 2021 to January 2022
