The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer,  the Manager Information Services provides direction, vision, leadership and system knowledge to define, design, develop and implement solutions in conjunction with the business to grow capability, improve services, reduce costs and manage risk. As a senior manager, this hands-on role is accountable for the provision and leadership of Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Business Systems (BS) and Records & Information Management (RIM). 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive technical aspects of the Council’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals and that resources meet the company’s short-term and long-term needs.
  • Develop and execute, in conjunction with senior management, the IT business systems strategy roadmap and digital transformation.
  • Build and lead the IT team to ensure business requirements and service levels are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide hands-on expertise to system infrastructure and applications to ensure functionality and efficiency whilst maintaining a view on new and emerging technology that could further the Council’s goals.
  • Monitor and administer day-to-day operations (including vendor relationships) providing timely support for issues and updates
  • Develop, review, and manage all IT budgets, policies, procedures.

What we are looking for:

You will have proven experience in driving the strategy, development, implementation, and operation of efficient, fit for purpose and secure information technology systems across an organisation. You will be a confident and skilled communicator with a consultative approach with the ability to build and lead a diverse team of application and infrastructure specialists. A background in achieving results in a complex, customer focused environment is required. Knowledge of CIVICA Authority and tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
