The Opportunity

The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

About you

You are an experienced Carpentry trades person who enjoys sharing your knowledge and wants to take the next step in your career.

Our ideal candidate has a Carpentry trade and is a passion to teach the next generation of apprentices. They are great communicators with a vibrant and engaging teaching style, willing to motivate and support students through their education and training journey.

To be successful you will have:

  • Vocational qualifications at a minimum Certificate III in Carpentry, or equivalent
    Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to maintaining professional and technical currency, as an example, eligibility for or maintenance of a Contractor’s Licence.

Desirable but not mandatory:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 equivalent

Please note, applicants may not necessarily possess teaching experience - the right candidate may be trained and developed through a TAFE NSW funded scholarship opportunity. Importance is placed on industry experience and the right attitude.
