How you'll make a difference
We’re seeking an Engineer to join our engineering team and deliver high quality engineering assessments and advice in relation to the development and maintenance of municipal infrastructure.
Your expertise will ensure that a high level of customer service satisfaction is achieved through the provision of development engineering and general engineering services. Your professionalism and conscientiousness will contribute to Council’s aim of being a high performing, customer-focused organisation. To achieve success you will need to be multi-skilled, outcome focussed and passionate about innovation and technology.
As part of our team you will have the opportunity to
- Contribute to the delivery of development engineering services to ensure that appropriate development is encouraged and that Council’s infrastructure is developed to appropriate industry standards.
- Deliver services in compliance with relevant legislation, and in a way which provides best value to Council and the community.
- Provide technical engineering advice, to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate
- Your professionalism will enhance Council’s reputation as a responsive and efficient organization.
- A degree in civil engineering or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and significant relevant experience.
- Experience working with municipal infrastructure.
- Experience working in land development and with the Local Government Infrastructure Design Manual.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Has a strong and proactive customer service focus.
- Be a collaborator and an effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Closing Date
The Alpine Shire is a local government area in the Hume region of Victoria, Australia, located in the north-east part of the state. It covers an area of 4,788 square kilometres (1,849 sq mi) and in June 2018 had a population of 12,730.
It includes the towns of Bright, Dinner Plain, Mount Beauty and Myrtleford. There are two unincorporated areas within the shire: the areas around Mount Hotham and Falls Creek. It was formed in 1994 from the amalgamation of the Shire of Bright, Shire of Myrtleford, and parts of the United Shire of Beechworth, Shire of Oxley, Shire of Yackandandah and Shire of Omeo.
