Dubbo South Public School is a school where excellence is achieved through quality teaching, learning and community involvement in a caring, supportive environment.

Dubbo South Public School is a large primary school situated in the Western area. The school has many quality facilities including well–maintained classrooms, a hall, a covered outdoor learning area and an outdoor learning garden. Parent and community partnerships are highly valued.

Staff are enthusiastic, committed and caring. Our staff provide a wide choice of educational, social, cultural and sporting activities for approximately 560 students of these 7% are EALD and 37% are Aboriginal.

We have a Multi–Categorical Unit which consists of four classes, to support the special needs of individual students. All students are empowered to be involved in self–directed learning pathways, and work with staff to improve their learning across Literacy and Numeracy.

Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (primary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
  • Skills and experience in effectively using data to plan, implement and evaluate individual student learning plans to monitor student growth and improvement in literacy, numeracy and behavioural outcomes in collaboration with classroom teachers.
  • Highly developed organisation, communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to coordinate and collaborate to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and outside agencies.
  • Capacity to contribute to school-wide professional learning by providing specialist advice and mentoring to support teachers to enhance classroom practice for students with learning and support needs.


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
