About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking 2 x full time Rangers to join our Regulatory Team. This position is required to provide high level customer service by proactively promoting all areas of Regulatory Services to the community by responding to enquiries regarding Council's By-laws and other applicable legislation.

To be successful in this role you will be required to rovide effective and timely responses to public enquiries and complaints regarding parking, animal management, untidy allotments, abandoned vehicles, activities in public places, and other related legislative non-compliance matters.

You will be required to undertake compliance and enforcement activities relating to the City of Darwin's By-laws, Policies, Strategies, and Plans, including conducting investigations, evidence collection, statements, interviews, inspections, warrants, seizures, issuing warnings, infringements, and preparing prosecution briefs.

As this position is a front facing to to our customers maintain good relationships with the community by communicating legislative requirements calmly, clearly, and confidently, combined with practical listening skills.

This role will require the successful applicant to maintain accurate records, assist in collating and analysing data, and prepare draft reports as required.

About you

We are looking for individuals who are experienced in providing frontline service delivery through proactive and effective customer service skills, highly developed communications skills, team work, exceptional work ethic, and sound ICT skills actioning a range of administration tasks.

In order to be considered, you must have the following:

  • Cert IV in Government Investigations or equivalent qualification and / or demonstrated experience in related field ( Minimum 2 years)
  • National Police Records Check
  • Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence

This is full time position, 72.5 hours per fortnight with a base salary starting from $68,858 per annum, plus superannuation. The City of Darwin Enterprise Agreement provides for generous entitlements and benefits including six weeks annual leave, fifteen days personal leave, paid parental leave and district allowance.
