The Student Assessment and Online Reporting team is passionate about delivering innovative digital solutions for high quality teaching and learning in NSW schools. We design, develop and deliver online student assessments, resources, reporting systems and data integration services to support teachers in analysing students’ learning development.

About the role

The Senior Technical Officer will be responsible for providing critical support for continuous integration and application deployment throughout the software development cycle across multiple applications, including database management and maintenance of development, test and production environments.

We are looking for a long-term team member who seeks to develop their technical skills by engaging hands-on in the design, development, delivery and support of quality applications and systems, and who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining software development processes and standards.

This is an exciting and challenging role open to anyone who can demonstrate a history of initiative and a genuine knack for working with technology. You must be able to demonstrate that in your career you have:

• experience writing code or scripting technical solutions
• researched and delivered a novel technical solution to assist with a business problem
• understood and synthesised complex priorities
• successfully supported customers through a period of technical change

Essential requirements of the role

• Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) (for paid employment)

Key knowledge and experience

• Knowledge of and experience in GIT/source control, SQL, CI/CD or Azure/Cloud software are highly regarded
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
