Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Social Planning & Research, you will contribute to the strengthening of local networks, and support partnerships to undertake a range of health promotion programs, projects and initiatives with a focus on community safety and preventative health issues.
A little bit about the role
The Health Promotion Officer (Safety Planner) will design, research, develop and implement effective community safety strategies, policies and programs around gender equity, family violence, alcohol and drug use (prescription and other drugs), social housing and a range of other issues that impact on wellbeing and safety in the City of Boroondara.
They also assist in the identification of current and future community needs, demands, expectations and aspirations as they relate to health, wellbeing and community safety.

The City of Boroondara (/bɒrənˈdɑːrə/) is a local government area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was formed in June 1994 from the amalgamation of the Cities of Kew, Camberwell and Hawthorn.
It has an area of 60 km2 (23.2 sq mi). In June 2018 the City had a population of 181,289.[1] Boroondara was rated ninth of 590 Australian local government areas in the BankWest Quality of Life Index 2008, and first in a 2013 Victoria-wide community satisfaction survey.
