Lead Horticulturalist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time enthusiastic and motivated Lead Horticulturalist to join our Parks and Gardens Team. This role provides horticultural leadership to the Parks and Gardens team members.

 You will be responsible for amenity horticulture and advanced horticultural activities within the Town’s parks, gardens and reserves including areas of natural heritage significance. These will include but are not limited to:

• Turf care
• Streetscape and Landscape gardening.
• Tree selection and planting.
• Selective chemical spraying.
• Management of reticulation systems.
• Natural area regeneration.

 The successful candidate will have:

• A Tertiary Qualification, Certificate II or higher in horticulture.
• Significant experience in horticultural / arboricultural activities.
• A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License (essential).
• A current ‘HR’ License would be an advantage.

Working Hours

This position is 76 hours per fortnight – worked over a nine-day fortnight with the working hours of 6.30am to 3.30pm.

 Salary and Benefits

• A salary of $64,513.70 per annum is offered
• 10% Super Guarantee
• The Town also offers up to 5% additional superannuation (conditions apply)
• 4 weeks annual leave per year plus 17.5% leave loading
• Two additional leave days per year
• Nine Day Fortnight
