The Role

As the Youth Development Officer, you will be responsible for developing innovative programs, seek funding and create strong external partnerships across the Town’s community facilities. This position reports to the Youth Development Supervisor and works closely with the Community Development team members to ensure effective programs are delivered and well communicated.  

No two days will ever be the same in this position so the ability to multi-task and make decisions quickly is essential. You will be interfacing with everyone from members of the public and the internal team, to employers and external stakeholders. A penchant for clear, direct communication, a thick skin, and the ability to read people all have to be part of your skillset. Great personality and a sense of humour is a great attribute for this position.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Demonstrated ability in the successful development and implementation of youth programs and activities
  • Experience in seeking and applying for grants and funding
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Rights to work in Australia
