Job Description

The Risk & Assurance Coordinator main areas of responsibility:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining an enterprise-wide approach to risk management to improve internal decision making processes, promote a proactive approach to risk management and embed risk functions throughout the organisation. This includes the processes for monitoring and reporting on actions.
  • Monitoring the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls established to regulate the operations and activities of the City of Swan, and assist with the implementation of new controls where necessary.
  • Liaising with the City’s Internal Auditors, and coordinating the development of the City’s Strategic Internal Audit Plan, and Annual Internal Audit Plan, including monitoring the delivery of audit findings.
  • Monitoring the findings of the OAG performance audits and working with leaders to ensure that the City implements identified improvements.
  • Developing and implementing a Fraud and Corruption Plan to ensure that the City has appropriate policies and processes in place to manage this risk.
  • Contributing to the application of effective governance practices and processes to support compliance with legislative and policy requirements.

To be successful in this position, you will have at least 5 year’s experience and knowledge of enterprise risk management, and proven ability to develop and implement risk strategies, systems and processes. Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area such as commerce, enterprise risk management, and internal audit.
