About the Opportunity

Based in Dalby, you will be responsible for providing support to the Works Managers in leading Council's technical teams and managing Council's transport infrastructure in the areas of construction, maintenance and planning and corridor management.

Reporting to the Works Manager Maintenance, you will:

  • project manage and deliver the department's civil construction and maintenance programs within agreed timeframes and budgets including renewal and rehabilitation programs;
  • develop, implement, modify and review local laws, policies, registers, work practices and systems to achieve a high level of efficiency and industry best practice;
  • assist in the management of Council's Transport Infrastructure including project scope documents and cost estimates, annual condition assessments, approvals, permits, energy sector impacts, policies and stakeholder management; and
  • negotiate road infrastructure agreements with external stakeholders to maintain the road network. 

About yourself

The successful applicant will have:

  • a relevant degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated practical and technical civil engineering experience in the management of public infrastructure;
  • extensive experience in road construction and maintenance to determine road upgrade solutions and appropriate rehabilitation treatments;
  • success in delivering complex works programs and projects and navigates challenges in order to meet organisational objectives;
  • experience in project managing resources and budgets with a high degree of control and autonomy whilst operating within a constantly changing environment; and
  • a current C Class Drivers Licence.

It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have RPEQ qualification.
