Sylvania High School is a comprehensive high school located in the Sutherland Shire and residing on Dharawal country. The student population is approximately 750 drawn from our local community and beyond with diverse cultures and language backgrounds represented, including students identifying as having an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.

Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach Geography (7-12) and Legal Studies (11-12).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver teaching and assessment programs that meet the needs of all learners to promote academic growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage classroom behaviour and promote engagement and inclusive relationships for learning.
  • Ability to integrate technologies to support differentiation and formative assessment practices.
  • Ability and enthusiasm in contributing to faculty and whole-school cultures focused on continual improvement.


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
