Job Description

  • Salary Range Band 5 $72,168 to $83,699 plus 10.5% Super

  • Full time, Temporary 12 months (possible extendable for another 12 months)

  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible 

About the Organisation

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.  

About the Role

  • Serve as the intermediary between the business services and Digital and Technology

  • Services and internal and external customers to understand the structure, policies, and

  • operations, and recommend solutions that enable the Council to achieve its goals.

  • Provide ‘Level 1’ Business Analyst support for users of the City of Port Phillip Council.


  • Define and documenting requirements for improving processes and systems, reducing their costs, enhancing their sustainability, and the quantification of potential business benefits.

  • Working with stakeholder groups and facilitating workshops, interviews, focus groups and walk-throughs that may include, but is not limited to activities and outputs for business cases, use cases, business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, business engagement and organisation change.

Skills and Experience

  • 1-3 years in business analyst roles, with domain experience

  • Business/system analysis, including requirements gathering, on large-scale systems development and delivery of IT solutions.

  • These are 12 month roles with potential extension based on business needs. Two roles currently required for a minimum period of 12 months.
