The DVPC is the strategic leadership and governance body which advises the Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence on the ACT’s response to domestic and family violence (DFV). The DVPC drives collaboration and integration between government, non-government organisations and the broader community to identify systemic gaps and strategic opportunities for the ACT to continually improve its responses to DFV. The DVPC leads and guides whole-of-government, sector-wide approaches to preventing DFV, supporting victim-survivors, and appropriately holding perpetrators to account. The DVPC has recently been refreshed and revitalised to improve its capacity to respond to the increasing demands and complexities within the contemporary DFV sector and policy landscape. As part of these reforms, a new membership structure has been introduced to bring together diverse expertise, skills and experience from across the ACT to guide the DVPC.
 
Job description
Applications are invited to fill the following positions: Four chief executive officers or equivalent of a community-based organisation that provide support services or undertakes advocacy, research or policy development in relation to domestic and family violence. This includes specialist domestic and family violence services as well as generalist organisations engaged in activities or responses related to domestic and family violence. At least two applicants capable of representing the interests of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community At least one applicant capable of representing the interests of people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds Applicants with skills or experience relevant to the functions of the DVPC who may or may not be employed by or engaged with a government agency or community-based organization providing responses in relation to domestic and family violence.
