User Experience Developer

Location: Newcastle

• Bring your UX design and development experience to an Agile delivery role.
• Fixed term contract (24 months) role- 35 hours per week.
• Flexible working with optional 9-day fortnight.

City of Newcastle (CN) is looking for a skilled User Experience Developer to drive a human centric approach to digital service delivery with a focus on understanding customer, business, and technology needs and balancing these to deliver effective and intuitive digital services.

The essentials you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, UX Design, or a related qualification, and/or demonstrated capability through past employment experience.
• Experience in UX design across strategy and Agile delivery.
• Demonstrated skills in various design techniques such as sketching, prototyping, wireframes, and development of UI assets.
• Well-developed contemporary front-end development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and technical limitations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and clients.
• Solid knowledge about Design Thinking and Human Centred Design.
• Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work across multiple projects.
• Demonstrated experience in working with external vendors and partners to deliver successful software solutions.

Other valuable skills you may have:

SCRUM certification
A passion for User Experience and Digital innovation
Customer Service Management / Digital Workflow platform experience highly regarded
