You may not have thought of the Water Industry before, but as an essential service, this is a career pathway that will always be in demand.
You'll work with teams that deliver high quality water to our homes and businesses, as well as ensuring waste water is treated to protect the environment. A few of the many things you'll learn include pipelaying and water/sewer network construction, water network operations, maintenance of water assets, treatment plants operation, auto control systems and recording data and systems readings.
If you successfully complete your Traineeship, you'll have a nationally recognised qualification in Certificate III Water Industry Operations (NWP30219) and the experience you need to create a lasting Career pathway in a specialised field.
You'll a be motivated, hardworking and committed person who really wants to learn and succeed and you'll be able to demonstrate these qualities through your schooling records and/or work history.
Our ideal person will be someone who is inquisitive, energetic and curious. You'll be an engaged learner and a hard worker and able to work comfortably in both indoor and outdoor environments.

The package: You will be paid in accordance with the Traineeship pay scale as outlined in the Local Government (State) Award 2020 plus superannuation.
Location: The successful applicant will be required to rotate throughout various depots located within the Water Services Network but this role is based in Gloucester primarily. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites.
Tenure: Full Time (24 month Fixed Term)
