An exciting opportunity is available to join Council’s Development Services Team as a Development Officer - Planning.  We are seeking a qualified planner with professional development assessment experience, including experience with the new planning system.

Our area is rural, features a good portion of the internationally renowned Barossa Valley, some iconic historic townships and settlements, a suburb (Hewett) as well as the Roseworthy Township Expansion, offering a diversity of development applications.

The Planning Officer will form part of the dedicated Development Services team and undertake day to day assessments of development applications including processing, assessing, and making recommendations on planning applications and delivering sound technical and procedural advice regarding development matters to the organisation and broader community. This role requires someone who takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience and who proactively collaborates within a team environment. We are looking for a professional who rises to challenges and takes pride in their role.  But the role comes with the support of one of the most experienced Assessment Managers in the business and a dynamic team that is supportive and committed to getting things done the right way.

The role is based at Freeling, about 45 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. The successful candidate will demonstrate your knowledge of sound urban and peri urban development and planning principles, strong communication skills, technical expertise, good judgement, and a desire to deliver quality development outcomes.
