$71,455 to $76,063 per annum

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Infrastructure Services directorate for an Asset Technical Officer.  In this role, you will be responsible for documenting, auditing and supporting the full development of Whitsunday Water and Waste’s asset management system working with engineering and operations and corporate teams to achieve and optimise an asset management system.

Essential

  1. C Class Drivers Licence. 
  2. IPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning or similar with relevant work experience within a Civil Infrastructure capacity, or a minimum 5 years’ experience in development technical documentation associated with asset management.
  3. Technical knowledge and understanding of water and sewage network and treatment assets including familiarity with Australian Standards and specifications for design and construction of these assets.
  4. A technical understanding of water and sewerage assets construction practices and treatment selection in order to optimise the performance of the asset, taking into consideration life cycle costs, environmental factors and improvements for the infrastructure users.
  5. Ability to determine condition states for a wide array of water and sewage assets and related knowledge of assessment and investigation methods/technologies underlying condition drivers and statistical techniques to appropriately capture net asset condition, particularly relating to linear water and sewage assets.
  6. Demonstrated understanding of strategic asset management principles and practices.
  7. Demonstrated experience in successfully working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Demonstrated advanced computer literacy, with the ability to utilise financial, records management, project management, asset management and Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  9. Demonstrated problem solving skills in a dynamic work environment, with the ability to make sound recommendations and decisions.

Desirable

  1. Previous experience is expected in the water industry with experience in treatment operations/management an advantage.
