Location: Newcastle

  • Provide quality bush regeneration and revegetation services and park/coast maintenance activities.
  • 2 x permanent, full-time role – 38 hours per week.
  • Flexible work arrangements available.

City of Newcastle (CN) is looking for self-motivated and passionate Field Workers to provide quality bush regeneration and revegetation services and associated works across the local government area.

Drawing on your proven experience in a similar role, you’ll perform a wide range of natural resource management and horticultural practices in line with set service levels including landscape works, recreational facilities maintenance and bush regeneration. You’ll deliver quality work outcomes as a member of the team, with adherence to Workplace Health and Safety requirements.

The essentials you’ll need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in horticultural or natural resource management and/or experience working in a similar role in an outdoor setting and a demonstrated capacity to deliver
  • Ability to perform allocated duties with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of relevant WHS requirements
  • Ability to work in a team based environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork
  • Proven ability to perform tasks in different work environments under the supervision of trained supervisors
  • Ability to maintain accurate written records, daily reports and dairies
  • Experience in the safe operation of horticultural and turf maintenance machinery / equipment / tools and ability to administer regular minor machinery maintenance
  • Class C driver’s licence (manual)

Other valuable skills you may have:

  • Tertiary or other qualifications in horticulture and natural resource management
  • Experience in landscape construction works
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the general public and user groups
  • Experience in small scale landscape construction works
