We have an opportunity for two Senior Asset Accountants to join our dedicated team providing hands-on valued advice and vital service, supporting and enhancing our customer’s business. Senior Asset Accountants work across numerous business units and asset classes providing a range of asset related accounting services in support of our $23 Billion+ asset base.

As an experienced professional, your services will include assisting with asset capitalisation, disposal, revaluation and data integrity while also providing expert advice to the various business units across the entire asset life-cycle. This is a rewarding role for an asset accounting professional who enjoy undertaking complex financial challenges for customers. Through your customer focus, attitude and commitment, you’ll support our Financial Services to think about efficiencies and deliver our work and services more effectively.

About the roles:

  • accountable for financial reporting relating to fixed asset and property accounting, and contribution to the preparation of statutory reporting and valuation process for Brisbane’s assets
  • support achievement of business outcomes by delivering technical financial advice and direction to staff and managers and stakeholders on matters specifically relating to property and other infrastructure assets
  • implement and maintain accurate corporate record of property and fixed assets to ensure complete and accurate reporting
  • preparation and review of financial analysis and reporting in key areas of the property and fixed asset accounting.
  • develop and sustain business relationships across Council by liaising with key internal business units to promote and facilitate business units’ compliance with fixed asset and property accounting procedures
  • oversee the preparation of data collection and reporting to produce reliable and robust financial information by providing guidance and direction to property specific project teams
  • deliver financial management business outcomes by directing the formulation of financial policy and the management of property and fixed asset accounting in order to provide financial management and accounting advisory and reporting services
  • assure the integrity of business critical financial information by directing and guiding requirements
  • financial analysis to support business decisions through the analysis of data and ensure integrity of financial data across asset acquisition, disposal and valuation processes.
