Brisbane City Council libraries provide a wide range of services including book clubs, reading programs, computer training, events and workshops. In partnership with the community, we deliver a range of learning programs, which foster a love of reading, culture and ideas.
Brisbane libraries are a vibrant hub of activity offering first class facilities, events and activities for every age group within the local community. Brisbane City Council is searching for a skilled and enthusiastic Library Technician to join their knowledgeable team.
Library Technicians play an essential role in delivering high standards of library services in a modern and continuously changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively problem-solve, particularly with technology and computer services is vital. In addition, you will deliver a range of activities including reading, storytelling, learning and outreach activities.
This role requires you to have the ability to mentor others in developing their information technology skills and more crucially able to provide support to your team leader to achieve key Library Services objectives.
To be considered for the role you will have:
A diploma in library and information management or related discipline, together with experience in a public library will be highly regarded.
