The Corporate Communication branch provides a comprehensive communication service across a number of channels disciplines (incorporating campaign planning, brand strategy, insights, marketing, media, public relations, social media, issues management, digital communication, publications editorial and sponsorship) to Council programs and business units.

The Digital Manager reports directly to the Manager, Corporate Communication and is an integral member of the branch management leadership team. As the Digital Manager you will be responsible for driving and championing the ongoing transformation of Council’s digital communication presence.

We are looking for an innovative leader with extensive experience in digital communication and leading professional teams. You will have vision, skills and capability to drive and deliver Council’s digital communication needs into the future.

Key responsibilities include:

• leadership and delivery of the strategic digital marketing and online communication agendas
• partner with program areas to help plan and deliver their digital communication approach
• work across complex organisational boundaries to effectively manage and enhance Council’s brand internally and externally
• deliver on various digital projects including the corporate website and social media platforms
• provide personal leadership and direction to continuously challenge and improve Council’s corporate marketing and communication performance
• monitor and keep abreast of emerging marketing and digital communication trends, practices, technologies
• provide inspirational leadership to the branch’s Digital teams including Content Production, Social Media and Digital Strategy and Innovation.

What you need to do to succeed:

• lead organisational performance to deliver coordinated, responsive and customer-focused outcomes
• maintain and develop relationships across organisational boundaries
• develop an engaged, productive and customer-focused workforce
• superior understanding of contemporary digital, marketing and communication theory and practices
• significant high-level senior experience in delivering strategic digital marketing and online communication campaigns
• broad marketing and digital communication knowledge of traditional and modern marketing communication channels
• participate in strategic decision making and represent Brisbane City Council to the community, other levels of Government and to industry.
