About Us

Central Desert Regional Council is a local government authority covering an area over 282,000 Sq. kilometres. The Council provides a range of services in 12 communities to the North of Alice Springs: Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala and Yuendumu. There are also several homelands and outstations. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged and over 80% of the population is Aboriginal.

The Role

This position provides a high level of day-to-day management to the site based Case Managers responsible for delivering CDP at the community level. This position will be responsible for implementing CDP services across the region including the development of an appropriate and responsive case management system, while fostering the development of a client focused service. Further, this position has primary responsibility for ensuring compliance with CDP operating policies, procedures and claims processes.

Keys to your success

• Experience in managing a team that is geographically dispersed.
• Experience in working effectively with remote Aboriginal communities, demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to case management practices and the ability to establish best practice within the CDP context.
• Demonstrated capacity in achieving high levels of compliance with policies, procedures and reporting systems.
• Experience in managing a Job Seeker claims process.
• Experience in managing a complex working environment, with competing needs and high levels of responsibility, and good personal stress management strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in engaging multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in working collaboratively as part of a team.
• Sound computer literacy and data management skills.
• High level oral and written communication skills.
• Agree to an NT Police Criminal History check, and hold a current C- Class drivers license.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain.
• Formal qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, other related discipline or high level of relevant experience.

Desirable

• Knowledge of Local Government functions and responsibilities, and procedures and processes.
• Knowledge of CDP and an understanding of the aims, aspirations and challenges of the program implementation in remote community locations .
• Experience with the ECSN reporting system.
