How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

Reporting into the Senior Green Infrastructure Officer, you will responsible for providing project management and support to the Open Space Planning and Green Infrastructure team, with a particular focus on the delivery of projects and programs which increase the overall greening of the City of Melbourne through the creation of new green infrastructure (green roofs, walls and facades) in both the public and private realm, to ensure the city is better adapted to climate change.

You will manage a range of small to medium size projects within the Green Our City Strategic Action Plan program of works; therefore your project management skills are essential. You will be responsible for delivering green infrastructure projects and communication materials related to the Green Our Rooftop demonstration project, as well as evaluation of greening projects and strategies and renewal of street greening guidelines.

The role will require a highly organised, independent, skilled communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills and end-to-end project management experience. We are seeking a confident team player with a keen interest in green infrastructure and solving urban and climatic challenges by building with nature.

You can bring… (Selection criteria)

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
  • A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Ecosystem or Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or experience in an equivalent field.
  • Relevant professional experience and applied knowledge of greening projects, project management and delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to represent Council in public forums and to negotiate positive outcomes.

By joining us, you will become part of a remarkable team who work in a constructive and inclusive culture to shape the future of this city. Together, we champion difference, celebrate achievement and recognise positive impact.
