This position is responsible for ensuring all Council’s municipal services are met and for managing the day to day activities of Council staff, including Environmental Health, By-Laws and compliance functions that enhance and protect the environment and community through delivery of high quality and compliance processes.
Knowledge of Local Government Operations, functions and legislation in relation to the department will be highly regarded.

The Aboriginal Shire of Lockhart River is a local government area in Far North Queensland, Australia.
It is on the east coast of the Cape York Peninsula and consists of a single locality, Lockhart River (which is shared with the Shire of Cook). It includes a number of islands off the east coast: Chapman Island, Lloyd Island, Rocky Island, Sherrard Island and Sunter Island.
