Who should apply?
You can apply to this pool for fixed-term opportunities in schools and regions across the state, if you are:
School psychologists are required to hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; and
You are also eligible to apply to work for us if you hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and have worked a minimum of three years full-time (or equivalent part-time) as a school psychologist (or equivalent position).
If you have not yet completed 2 years (8 terms) of employment as a school psychologist, you may wish to consider applying to the Graduate School Psychologist Pool
How the pool works
Qualified and eligible applicants may be considered from the pool to fill positions as they arise. Qualifications, experience, location preferences and suitability for the specific vacancy are considered.
You must have had your application accepted to this pool, and have had confirmation at the time a vacancy is listed, to be considered for an employment opportunity.
Except where applicants are permanently employed by us as a School Psychologist, a school may only offer a fixed term appointment via this pool to an eligible and available applicant - that is an applicant who is not currently employed by us for the period of the appointment or is employed by us on a fixed-term contract but the position being offered is an increased work fraction or for a longer period of time.
If you are currently a permanent employee with us, your principal or line manager will need to approve your release before you can accept a temporary appointment at another school or location.
Applying for this pool does not guarantee appointment.
Vacancies may be filled using other options such as local recruitment activities or advertising positions.

A strong public education system is the cornerstone of every successful society. We provide high quality education for children and young people throughout Western Australia, helping them reach their full potential.
We have more than 800 schools in communities across our State – in bustling city and regional centres and in some of the most remote parts of the world. Comprehensive schools, selective schools and education support schools. As our population grows, we're building new schools and developing state-of-the-art facilities for children to learn in. Modern schools using the latest and emerging technologies.
Each school, like each community, is distinctive. Parents and communities play a key role in creating a unique ethos for their school. They help shape the school's directions. The principal selects the best teachers and support staff for the school and funding is driven by the learning needs of students.
