Quairading District High School (DHS) is seeking a capable and enthusiastic Education Assistant – Special Needs to join our school.
The Education Assistant – Special Needs will provide support to students with special needs to engage with learning by accessing the West Australian curriculum. A core component of the role is assisting with the development of social skills to maximise participation in class activities.
We are seeking an applicant who is reliable, organised, flexible and is able to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. The capacity to maintain confidentiality is an essential component of the role.

Our school is located 167km from Perth and currently caters for approximately 135 students from Pre-Primary to Year 11. Five school buses service our families who live out of town.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Education Assistants working with Kindergarten Students are required to have, or be actively working towards, a Certificate lll in Education Support (or equivalent), consistent with the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care, as determined by the Principal.
