The Role
The General Assistant/Toolstore role is responsible for providing high level customer service to support the effective and efficient delivery of educational programs. This position may be required to work to a roster and to carry out manual handling activities while supporting the class teacher.

Reporting to the Staffing Pool Coordinator, this position:

  • Create a safe and effective teaching environment through the effective management of equipment, stores, and workspaces to meet Work Health and Safety and current industry requirements
  • Undertake end-to-end coordination and administration of inventory, ensuring adequate inventory of stores and equipment are on hand, maintained and in clean condition and ensuring security of equipment and materials.
  • Preparation and issue of tools, equipment and materials required by students and staff to facilitate effective supply of learning materials.
  • Provide administrative support to the teaching section to ensure accurate record keeping, and the efficient functioning of the teaching section
  • Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks
  • Assist with quality assurance and continuous improvement processes to provide consistency and best practice.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment or related work areas
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory and stock control including store layout and maintenance of stores records
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision
  • Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description
    General I.T capability – ability and willingness to stay on top of e-mail
  • communications, timesheets, rosters and other ad-hoc administrative tasks etc.
