Position Information
North Sydney Public School has an enrolment of 837. 49% of students are from a diverse language background other than English. Selection Criteria

• In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach Infants and/or Primary, with the ability to effectively balance the dual roles of an exemplary teacher and the complex responsibilities of an Assistant Principal.
• A visible and approachable leader with outstanding organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills, who can empower staff and build positive authentic relationships with all members of the community.
• Proven ability to lead effective literacy and numeracy programs through data analysis and the implementation of best practice and future-focused pedagogies
• Capacity to use instructional leadership skills to drive whole-school change through the use of evidence-based practices
• Ability to work proactively as part of an engaged and cohesive leadership team, with the capacity to analyse and evaluate the school's progress towards excellence as part of driving the Strategic Improvement Plan in a large K-6 school context.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
