The Opportunity

Reporting to the Coordinator Library, the Librarian will design and deliver a public library service that is welcoming, inclusive and supportive of life-long learning principles.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a degree in Library and Information Management, and be eligible for membership to the Australian Library and Information Association. You should also possess extensive experience in the provision of public library services at a senior level; experience with administrative, database and records management, acquisition and collection management.

Please note it is a requirement of this position to hold a current Working with Children Check.

Key accountabilities include

• Design and delivery of literacy programs for pre-school and school age children
• Coordinate the school holiday programs
• Acquisition and cataloguing of resources for the children's and young adult collections
• Liaise with the school community to promote the library's services and programs
• Participate in Outreach services to the school community
