Bellingen Shire Council is looking to recruit an amazing Customer and Business Servies Team Leader!

We need somebody to lead the delivery of exceptional standards of customer service to external stakeholders by the Customer and Business Service team, principally via the key channels of Council's telephone switchboard and the customer service counters at Council's Customer Service Centre.

You will deliver business administration support to internal stakeholders by the Customer and Business Service team within the context of agreed priorities and available resources and where that support improves organisational efficiency or adds value to external service standards.

Whilst managing the day-to-day operations of Council's Records service and staff, you will champion and foster a customer service-oriented culture and service standards by the whole of Council to external customers and the community.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role in the customer service industry
  • Cert IV in Frontline Management, Human Resources, or Customer Service
  • Demonstrated customer service and quality orientation plus high-level planning and organising skills
  • Proven ability to generate solutions to problems and situations
  • Verbal and written communication skills to a high, professional standard
  • High-level interpersonal skills with proven ability to handle and resolve complaints and/or conflict situations
  • A high level of computer literacy with at least intermediate level skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting and setting up procedures and processes and supporting systems
  • Cash handling and reconciliation experience
  • Understanding of the State Records Act 1998 (NSW), Local Government Authority GA39 and the operation of Electronic Document & Recordkeeping Management Systems (EDRMS)
