The role of Community Events Coordinator works with the community and local stakeholders to create great events, spaces, places and experiences through a wide range of events and activities that people want to participate in and attend throughout our City. Many of these are outdoor events and include the famous Prospect Spring Fair and Twilight Sessions, along with Citizenship Ceremonies, NAIDOC Week and a range of new events created and delivered over the 2020/21 event season including Festive Streets, Outdoor Cinema and Teddy Bear Picnic. The role also supports Newmarch Gallery and youth initiatives.
Using your great organisational and collaboration skills you will develop event plans and foster strong relationships with local stakeholders, artists/performers and groups. With meticulous attention to detail, you will deliver on large and small scale events, some run by Council, others by the community under an empowerment model.
You will have experience in outdoor events, a passion for collaboration and marketing with strong skills in financial management and social media, as well as a creative approach to developing and delivering events. Your strength lies in the behind the scenes event administration and planning, and your community engagement and marketing experience ensures delivery of exciting and unique outcomes that are inclusive and value-add to our public spaces for the whole community to enjoy.
If you are an innovator with a positive outlook, like working to plans and deadlines and have extensive event delivery experience with a flair for outdoor events, we invite you to make an application to join us in our ‘Great Prospects’.
